Alongside her clinical practice, Meiwa has maintained an international career as a singer-songwriter, recording artist, music producer and performer since 2010. She has released multiple original recordings, toured internationally and performed at major festivals across Australia and Canada. Click here for more details. Meiwa is committed to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice and high-quality, family-centred care.

Meiwa is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT), Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT), professional musician and songwriter based in Melbourne on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country. She is passionate about using music, creativity and evidence-based practice to support individuals and families in building connection, regulation, communication and wellbeing. Her approach is warm, compassionate, trauma-informed and person-centred, with a strong focus on creating meaningful therapeutic relationships and tailoring support to each person's strengths, goals and interests.


Meiwa graduated with Academic Honours from the Bachelor of Music Therapy program at Capilano University in North Vancouver, Canada in 2017. During her training, she worked across acute healthcare and community settings, including the Burn, Trauma, High Acuity and Intensive Care Units at Vancouver General Hospital, as well as supporting refugee families and children with developmental and behavioural support needs.


Since relocating to Australia, Meiwa has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults with autism, intellectual disability, developmental delay, neurological conditions and complex support needs. Her clinical work focuses on emotional regulation, sensory regulation, communication, social connection, participation and quality of life.

Meiwa has completed specialised NICU Music Therapy training through Joanne Loewy's internationally recognised First Sounds: Rhythm, Breath, Lullaby (RBL) program. Combined with her Neurologic Music Therapy training, she supports infant development, parent–infant connection, co-regulation and family wellbeing, drawing on the latest evidence in neuroscience and music therapy.
